Abstract

This article examines the challenges faced by Shari’a courts in Kaduna State regarding records
management and its impact on the dispensation of justice. Utilizing a qualitative approach, the
study identifies key issues such as inadequate infrastructure, lack of trained personnel, and
insufficient technological integration. These challenges hinder the efficient management of court
records, leading to delays and inaccuracies in judicial processes. The findings highlight the
critical need for improved records management systems, training programs for court staff, and
the adoption of digital technologies to enhance the accuracy, accessibility, and timeliness of
judicial records. Recommendations are made for policy reforms and investments in infrastructure
to support the effective administration of justice in Kaduna State Shari’a courts.
